Cardiologist
Dr. Saleem Akbar, MD, FACC is Dual board-certified in cardiology and Internal medicine with over 25 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine, clinical research, and academic leadership. He currently serves as an attending cardiologist at several major hospitals across North Texas, including Baylor heart hospital Plano and Presbyterian Hospital of Allen. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Akbar has led numerous multicenter clinical trials as a Principal Investigator, focusing on heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and statin intolerance. His research contributions have played a role in the development of widely used cardiovascular therapies and have been presented at national and international scientific conferences. With a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and medical advancement, Dr. Akbar continues to integrate innovative research with patient-centered cardiology in the North Texas region.
